5-ft bandit in Rotherham shop hold-up

Two men, one only 5 feet tall and the other just 6 inches taller and armed with a baseball bat, demanded cash from the till at the A+S convenience store on Duncan Street, Brinsworth, in the early morning raid.

They filled a shopping basket with cigarettes and then fled in a blue vehicle.

Police say the 38-year-old male shop assistant was not injured, but was very distressed by the incident, which happened at 6.30am on Friday.

Both men are described as in their early 20s, white and of average build. The man with the bat was wearing dark clothes.
