51-year-old man arrested after machete attack at Maltby pub

A 51-YEAR-OLD man was arrested after an attack with a machete at a pub in Maltby.

He was arrested as the victim was taken to hospital with injuries described as "not thought to be life- threatening or life-changing” after the incident at the Queen’s Hotel at the weekend. 

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Police were called to reports of a man being injured at the Queen’s Hotel on Tickhill road, at 8.20pm on Saturday.

“It is reported a man was attacked by another man with a machete.

"The man was taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life threatening or life changing. 

“A 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm. 

“Enquiries are continuing.”
