£2.6 million funding pot open for business

A NEW £2.6 million fund has been launched to help small businesses switch on to boosts from digital technology.

Applications are now open for the first round of new Digital Innovation Grants, with up to 50 small and medium-sized businesses able to secure funding for ICT projects.

The Digital Innovation Grant will fund up to half of the projects costs totalling £2,000 and £10,000 and can be used for a wide range of business applications including from ecommerce websites, VoIP telephone systems and cloud-based remote working tech.

The grants will be allocated by the Enterprising Barnsley organisation through a competitive process, with applications judged on merit rather than on a first come, first served basis

Grants will be worth £1,000 to £5,000 (50 per cent of a project’s total cost), and the deadline for the first round of applications is August 27, with further rounds of funding to be announced later this year.
