22 years' jail for ‘twisted’ rapist Galvin Fox who preyed on children

A PREDATOR has been jailed for 22-and-a-half years for a string of horrific sexual offences against two children.

Galvin Fox (45, pictured), pleaded guilty to raping and sexually assaulting two victims under the age of 13 at Sheffield Crown Court and was sentenced on Friday.

Fox, of Town Lane, Greasbrough, committed 21 child sex offences between 2010 and 2019, including multiple rapes and instances of assault by digital penetration and sexual assault.

Recorder Ian Mullarkey told him: “Your actions show a chilling account of your distorted and twisted thinking.

“You said that age is just a number and that the victims ‘enjoyed it’.

“You pushed your victims to self harm and concealed your wicked offending.

“The victims were frightened and scared of you.

“Your offending will affect them for the rest of their lives.”

The court heard how Mr Fox had abused his victims by taking them to his flat and “forcing” them to perform and engage in sexual activity “against their will”.

This included “inappropriate touching” and “intentional vaginal penetration”, and the court heard he had engaged in sexual activity with one of the victims “over 50 times”.

Fox used “incentives” such as a games console to “lure” his victims to his flat.

The court heard how the victims were “too frightened” to come forward and knew “it wasn’t right what he was doing”.

Fox had told the victims he would be “financially worse off” if the police found out.

One of the victims told the court that she had self-harmed and tried to take her own life in 2019 because of the “years of abuse”, which she had wrongly blamed on “exam stress”.

She gave evidence against Fox, saying that he made her feel “dirty, had “ruined” her childhood and she hoped “he will never get the chance to hurt someone ever again”.

And she added that “life will never be the same” because of Fox’s crimes.

Fox, who had no previous convictions, was jailed for 22-and-a-half years, plus six on licence.

He was also given a restraining order barring him from contacting the victims or their families and is banned from living with children.

Fox was also placed on the sex offenders’ register for life.
