'200' milestone for Rotherham United boss Paul Warne

The clash marks the Millers boss's 200th match in charge since taking the reins in November 2016 following the departure of Kenny Jackett.

In that time, he has suffered two second-tier relegations but has twice taken his team straight back up.

"It's been an absolute roller coaster. I've had really good times and I've had really dark times," he said. "Until you have done football management, you have no idea how hard it is.

"I had conversations last week with two people who never intended to go into management but became bosses. One of them got out of it as soon as he could to go back to being a coach and the other is just surviving it.

“It's a unique job. It's something I'm really glad I did and continue to do, but it is very challenging.

"To get to 200 games is an achievement I'm proud of, and you know what I'm like - I'm not really one for patting myself on the back."

Rotherham head into the Potters game at AESSEAL New York Stadium in high spirits after last Saturday's 1-0 win at Derby County and they will climb out of the bottom three if they avoid defeat and Derby don't win at home to AFC Bournemouth.

Stoke beat the Millers 1-0 earlier in the campaign but have injury problems, with attackers Lee Gregory and Tyrese Campbell sidelined.

Centre-half James Chester was sent off in the 1-1 weekend draw at Blackburn Rovers and will miss out on New York through suspension.

The Millers are checking on the fitness of wing-back Wes Harding, central defender Richard Wood and midfielder Jamie Lindsay and expect all three to be available.
