£15,000 pot haul in Dearne Valley raids

CANNABIS worth almost £15,000 was uncovered during four police raids in the Dearne Valley.

Twenty medium sized plants with a street value of about £6,000 were seized at an address on George Street, Thurnscoe.

A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis and bailed until June.

A search on Deightonby Street, also in Thurnscoe, found £600 of cannabis, about £80 of amphetamine and a “substantial” amount of cash.

A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of possession of both drugs with intent to supply. He was bailed until May.

Officers discovered seven medium sized cannabis plants and 117 small seedlings at an Ingsfield Lane property, Bolton-on-Dearne.

These were worth more than £2,000 and a man in his 20s has been bailed until June after being arrested for producing cannabis.

Twenty large plants, worth £6,000 on the street, had been found at the address. Dearne Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out the raids on March 9.
