£10m Earth Centre sneak preview: VIDEO

A NEW £10 million children’s activity centre on the site of a disused eco-theme park will provide “learning in action” for kids.

That was the message today from Paul Gilbert, boss of Kingswood, who aim to turn the former Earth Centre site near Conisbrough into a multi-activity residential centre for the under-18s.

Mr Gilbert’s company was picked as the preferred bidder to develop the site by Doncaster Council this week.

He said that there would be plenty of jobs on offer during the construction stage and more once the centre is up and running.

“We’re extremely excited to have been selected and will be investing £10 million,” Mr Gilbert said.

“This will allow teachers to bring students for a residential experience bringing learning to life outside the classroom. We call it learning in action.”

The new centre is expected to open next year.
