TATA Steel opened the doors of its Aldwarke site to highlight the high-quality processes which could secure its future.

The up-for-sale business invited media for a behind-the-scenes tour including the electric arc furnaces and the continuous casting machines.

The speciality steels division, with 1,700 staff, mostly at Rotherham and Stocksbridge, has a £270 million turnover and expects to sell 209,000 tonnes of steel this year.
