Vicar of Rotherham leads dementia-friendly service at Minster

ROTHERHAM Minster hosted a dementia-friendly church service to raise awareness of the condition.

The event last Thursday was tailored for people diagnosed with dementia and those who love, support and care for them.

It was organised by clinical psychologist Dr Gemma Graham and led by Canon David Bliss, the Vicar of Rotherham (both pictured).

Mr Bliss said: “We want to find ways of reaching out, both within the church and the surrounding community to those who are affected by dementia.

“I am so pleased that we are able to hold this special service surrounded by the beauty of Rotherham Minster.

“I hope it will be the first of many more in the future.”
