Unsupervised bonfire causes damage

A BONFIRE left unattended at a home quickly spread and destroyed a fence.

The incident occurred on Friday (5) night at 9.30pm on Leybourne Road, Kimberworth Park.

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue (SYFR) said the ground bonfire had been left unsupervised and spread to quite a lot of rubbish in the garden, and destroyed the fence,

A crew from Rotherham station attended and brought the fire under control in an hour.

On Sunday night another domestic fire began when a tumble dryer set alight accidentally at Pear Tree Avenue in Bramley.

No one was injured, and Maltby and Aston crews attended for half an hour.

Two separate fires were started deliberately when arsonists set alight rubbish.

The first incident occurred on Aughton Lane in Aston at midnight on Sunday, which a crew from Aston attended for 15 minutes.

The second rubbish fire was on Meadowbank Road in Rotherham at 3.20am on Monday (8) morning. 

Elm Lane station attended for half an hour.
