Ukraine donations exceed lorryload

A LORRYLOAD of help for Ukrainian refugees is en route to Eastern Europe after an appeal was inundated with donations.

Adam Tinsley coordinated the collection in Maltby with help from volunteers and staff at a host of drop-off points around the village.

The Maltby councillor said: “The aid has now been collected and is on its way

“It will be handed over to the Polish Red Cross who will then distribute donations.

“We have also sent out a van full of donations as we collected way more than we could fit onto the lorry.

“Thank you to everyone that donated and all in the community that helped.”

The community efforts also included a £1,500 collection at Rotherham Rugby Club.
