Two bailed after Thurnscoe hit and run

TWO people — quizzed following a hit and run incident  in Thurnscoe — have been released on bail.

The 36-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following the incident on Barrowfield Road at around 7.30pm on Monday.

A 36-year-old pedestrian died in hospital following the incident.

South Yorkshire Police said that a man and woman were walking along Barrowfield Road when they were involved in a collision with a vehicle which failed to stop at the scene.

The 36-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where she died.

Police are keen to find witnesses to the incident. Anyone who can help should call 101 or email [email protected] quoting incident number 1110 of October 24.
