Two arrests after fatal crash

Officers were called to the scene, near junction 31 of the M1, at around 1am on Sunday after a moped was in collision with a BMW car.

A man riding the moped has died and a 29-year-old woman passenger remains critically ill in hospital.

Police arrested a 37-year-old woman on Sunday, suspecting her of causing death by dangerous driving.

She was bailed on Monday on suspicion of assisting an offender, after officers arrested a 34-year-old Rotherham man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He too has been released on bail, pending further enquiries. Two other people are assisting police with their investigation.
