TV Nativity stardom for Greasbrough children

PUPILS from a Rotherham primary school are set to make a special TV appearance next week.

The youngsters will meet celebrities Philip Schofield and Amanda Holden when they go to ITV’s London studios to take part in the This Morning Nativity show.

The children from Greasbrough Primary School will have to set off early to be on the 10am programme on December 18 – and pupils back at school will be watching the programme live.

Head of school Joanne Cook entered an online competition in which five schools would get the chance to be on the show.

The Greasbrough Primary School youngsters are now busy rehearsing their lines and putting together their costumes ready for the big event.

Mrs Cook told the Advertiser: “The children and staff are really thrilled to have been chosen to take part in this exciting opportunity.

“We are a school which was placed in special measures and the children and staff have worked so hard over the past few years, leading to being graded Good with Outstanding by Ofsted this year.

“This is an amazing opportunity for our children to showcase their talent and represent the school.”
