TV date for Mexborough boxing legend

The latest episode of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, which airs on Monday, includes filming at Cusworth Hall with local historian Giles Brearley and Iron Hague’s granddaughters, Jeanette Bradley and Ann Dorrin.

They were shown sharing the story of Iron to celebrity boxing fan and actor Shaun Williamson and antiques expert Paul Laidlow.

Giles said: “Shaun, better known to many as Barry Evans in East Enders, has appeared in many top productions including Extras with Ricky Gervais but is also a huge boxing fan and owns a large collection of boxing publications.

“He knew of Iron Hague and was keen to expand his knowledge of the boxer and meet his family.”
