Trees set alight at Phoenix Riverside

Firefighters spent about half an hour at the scene, on the corner of Sheffield Road.

A spokesperson said: “This incident is thought to have been started deliberately and follows a number of similar incidents at this location recently.”

There was a deliberate blaze involving fly-tipped rubbish at Canklow Hill Road, Canklow, at about 12.45am today.

And a mattress was set alight in the street at Wingfield Road, Wingfield, shortly after 9.20pm yesterday.
