Major road repairs in Harthill area

Rotherham Borough Council says the work is scheduled at off-peak times — from 9.30am to 3.30pm and on Sundays.

Work in Harthill begins today at Union Street and at Firvale on September 26. Dowcarr Lane at Woodall will be repaired from September 20.

Cllr Emma Hoddinott, cabinet member for roads, said: “By targeting residential areas, we are bringing significant road improvements to people’s doorsteps by improving the condition of the roads they use every day.

“Local councillors are encouraged to nominate the roads in their area for inclusion in the programme, which is empowering communities, the people who know best, to prioritise the roads in most need of improvement.

“Although there will inevitably be disruption during the work, it will result in real improvements which will provide benefits to road users for many years to come.”
