Ambulance called after bus crash

A SINGLE-decker bus and a car were in collision on a high street during the morning rush hour.

The incident occured on West Melton’s High Street at 8.40am and involved a Renault Kangoo and a Stagecoach single decker bus number 222.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service were called on Tuesday at 8.38am and sent a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance.

One woman was taken to Rotherham Hospital suffering from rib and wrist pain.

Paul Lynch, Stagecoach Yorkshire managing director, said: “The bus driver and passengers were unharmed and the driver of the car suffered injuries.

“The incident is being investigated by South Yorkshire Police.”
