Tickhill residents to have more say in future

Six times more people said yes to the proposal than no in a special referendum on July 23.

But the turnout for the vote was 26.59 per cent with 1,159 voting out of an electorate of 4,359.

The newly accepted Tickhill Neighbourhood Plan will run until 2028 and Doncaster Council will now consider planning applications with reference to it.

The Neighbourhood Plan has been developed by a steering group which has spent three years working on the initiative.
