Thurcroft mum stabbed while walking dog

A MOTHER has told of her terrifying ordeal after she managed to fight off a man who stabbed her while she was out walking her dog.

Now, Sharry Jepson (52), of Thurcroft, is warning other dog walkers, especially women, to be wary of the popular beauty spot.

Mrs Jepson, a former Army private, was left covered in blood after the broad daylight attack and walked a mile to find help \_ only to be ignored by three people.

The mum-of-two was walking her pedigree boxer puppy Penny along the Mineral Line pathway near to the former pit site in Thurcroft at around 11am on Monday.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who was in the area between 10.30am and 11.30am on Monday morning, is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 321 of April 20.
