Three injured in Thurnscoe crash

FIREFIGHTERS had to free a passenger from a car following a crash in the early hours of this morning.

Crews from Dearne and Adwick stations arrived at the scene, on Thurnscoe Bridge Road, at 12.20am today.

They found three casualties — firefighters helped to free one, who was trapped in the vehicle.

One crew from Rotherham station attended a car fire in Kilnhurst at around 12.10am.

They put out the burning Nissan Juke on Wharf Road, which is thought to have been set alight deliberately, leaving the scene at around 1.40am.

Another Rotherham crew put out a burning mattress in East Dene last night.

Staff attended Coleridge Road at 8.15pm, leaving the scene one hour later.

The fire is thought to have been started deliberately.
