Theatre group seeking new recruits

A YOUTH theatre group is on the hunt for new members to be part of their musical theatre family.

Wickersley Youngstars is hoping to recruit new talent from age nine to 18 to join them in their next big production Return to the Forbidden Planet.

Although based in Wickersley, the group attracts youngsters from all over Rotherham and the surrounding area.

An open meeting will take place next Wednesday (9) from 7pm at Wickersley Community Centre/Library for anyone interested in getting involved.

Audition pieces and rehearsal arrangements will also be made available on the night.

A spokeswoman for the group said: “Following their incredibly successful debut musical, Back to the 80s last year, Wickersley Youngstars are looking to recruit new members for the next production.

“Forbidden Planet is bursting with red hot rock and roll hits, including Great Balls of Fire, Good Vibrations, Teenager in Love, The Young Ones and The Monster Mash.

“The 2011 membership to Wickersley Youngstars will be restricted to 50, so if you would like to register an interest for either yourself or on behalf of a young person please contact us on 07718 972202 or email full details and a contact number as soon as possible to [email protected].”
