The Sheffield Hospitals Charity and Prostate Cancer UK quids in after “fat lads’” antics

A RACY calendar with a difference has raised over £25,000 for two health charities.

The Fat Lads Calendar 2018 features chunky fellas from around Rotherham and Yorkshire.

Masterminded by photographer Richard Gaynor, the tastefully-shot collection raised money for the Sheffield Hospitals Charity and Prostate Cancer UK.

Photographs recreated famous images like the Beatles crossing Abbey Road and a famous nude portrait of Kim Kardashian.

All 2,050 of the printed calendars printed were sold — and some generous folks donated cash without taking a calendar away.

The snapped lads and their supporters celebrated their success at the Cutler’s Arms pub, on Westgate, where they raised a glass and handed cheques to representatives from the charities.

Richard said: “Some may remember that back in November, a bunch of overweight blokes from South Yorkshire released an alternative calendar.

“We originally aimed to raise £10,000, so to get £25,000 is pretty incredible.”

He added: “I don’t have any current plans for a follow up this year.

“Maybe we will do one next year. I have a couple of ideas for a future one.”

The money raised was split equally between the two chosen charities.
