Tesco tight-lipped on store closures
RETAILER Tesco has refused to say whether any of the 43 stores across the UK it is set to close are in Rotherham.
The beleaguered business said that many of the branches to go would be convenience stores.
Tesco also announced it was shelving plans for 49 new large stores and axing its staff pension scheme for new employees.

Hide AdThe company has seen falling sales and its profits have been down.
Asked by the Advertiser whether Rotherham stores would be affected, a company spokesman said that no list of closed stores has been issued yet, adding: “We will be talking to staff at the stores first.”
