Tata on hunt for apprentices

STEELMAKER Tata is on the lookout for 29 new apprentices at its plants in Rotherham and Stocksbridge.

The Indian-owned giant has announced 122 spots for new starters across the UK, with 29 up for grabs in South Yorkshire.

It said this week it had vacancies for 11 mechanical engineering, ten electrical, five technical and three commercial apprentices will join the company to work across Tata

Steel sites in Rotherham, Stocksbridge and Brinsworth.

Apprenticeship applications to Tata Steel are open until Sunday, March 17, with successful applicants starting work in September.

Apprentices are initially on a fixed three year contract and are regularly reviewed throughout this period to ensure they are fully supported to complete their chosen framework.
