Tata chief's UK buyout plan
PORT Talbot’s Tata Steel boss is planning a management buyout of the firm’s UK operations.
Managing director Stuart Wilkie was previously behind a survival plan rejected by Tata’s board in India in March.
It was reported on Wednesday morning that Mr Wilkie was leading a group of staff hoping to take over operations including those in Rotherham.
It is understood that private funding and Government support would be required for a deal to be struck.
