Taste of summer on the way but storms could follow

TEMPERATURES are expected to soar to up to 31°C tomorrow (Tuesday) but forecasters have warned of the risk of thunderstorms later in the week.

The Met Office said it will be hot and sunny today (Monday) with temperatures reaching 28°C.

Tomorrow will be hot and humid, with long spells of sunshine. The maximum temperature will be 31°C.

But the Met Office has issued a yellow ‘be aware’ warning for Wednesday with the chance of “intense thunderstorms”.

It said: “Whilst most places will miss the worst, please be aware of the risk of flash flooding. Frequent lightning, large hail and strong winds could be additional hazards.

“All of this could lead to some flooding of homes, businesses and transport networks. Disruption to power is also possible.”
