Take a sleigh ride with the Lions

AS THE Christmas countdown builds, Mexborough and District Lions Club will take to the streets with their fund-raising charity sleigh.

They will cover a dozen locations across the Dearne Valley and Conisbrough areas from the end of November.

Lion Neil Luckcuck said: “As a special treat this year and to meet as many people as possible, we will be taking Santa and his sleigh to Tesco at Wath on November 29 between 5pm and 8pm, before our busy schedule starts.”

Santa and the Lions will visit the following areas, for two hours from the time shown:

November 30, Golden Smithies, Swinton (6pm); December 2, Lime Grove, Swinton (6pm); 4th Highgate, Mexborough (5pm); 6th Goldthorpe (6pm), 7th Thurnscoe (6pm); 8th Bowbroom/ Queen Street, Swinton (6pm); 11th Harlington (5pm); 12th Barnburgh (4.30pm); 13th Wentworth Road, Swinton (6pm); 16th Stringers, Conisborough (6pm); and 17th Wentworth Meadows (6pm).

Dates might have to change because the sleigh cannot be taken out in heavy weather.
