Social worker faces misconduct charges

A social worker from Rotherham is due to appear before a misconduct hearing in London tomorrow.

John Maude is accused of several allegations relating to time he spent working as a social worker in the town.

It is claimed that he failed to keep case notes on any case for which he was the allocated worker.

He is also said to have knowingly left three children in “a highly dangerous situation.” and to have allegedly failed to make safe contact arrangements, leaving children where they were at a high risk of harm.

It is also claimed that the he failed to respond to referrals relating to

domestic violence.

The General Social Care Council hearing is expected to last two days.
