Snow could fall as cold spell sweeps in

SNOW could fall in parts of the Rotherham borough this weekend as the latest cold spell sweeps across the country.

Temperatures are expected to plummet towards the end of the week with wintry showers and widespread frost by the weekend.

The Met Office said showers are expected to turn to sleet or snow on the hills, with frost expected across the country - particularly in rural areas.
