Slight dip in Rotherham unemployed
UNEMPLOYMENT fell by 0.4 per cent in Rotherham over the past year, according to new figures.
The number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance stood at 7,910 by early August, the Office for National Statistics said.
The fall left 2,687 women and 5,223 men out of work on JSA, meaning the borough’s unemployment rate stands at 4.9 per cent.
The UK joblelss total was 1,389,688 (3.4 per cent) after a 0.4 per cent fall nationally.
