Sizzling steelworkers a hot hit

A SAUCY charity calendar featuring a group of stripping steelworkers has proved such a success that hundreds more are being produced.

More than 1,000 copies of the calendar compiled in memory of brave student Alexander Albiston have already been sold.

And with calendars flying off shop shelves in Wickersley, Brecks and Bramley, a new print run of 500 more has been ordered to satisfy demand.

The steelworkers of C. Roberts Steel Services in Eastwood stripped for their own version of The Full Monty to create the calendar in memory of Alexander,

The star student landed a place at Cambridge University with top A-Level grades despite battling the cancer which finally took his life last year.

Workers from C. Roberts, whose number include Albiston family friend Peter Jackson, hope to raise at least £7,500 overall through sales of the £4.99 calendars.

They are available in Wickersley from Co-Op Food, KSM Dry Cleaners and Cards, Blossom Trail Flowers, Fab Flowers and Gifts, Philip Howard Books and Londis; and at Sainsbury’s and Listerdale News in Brecks.
