Seven candidates contesting Dinnington by-election for vacant Rotherham Council seat

SEVEN candidates are vying to take a vacant seat on Rotherham Council in the upcoming Dinnington by-election.

The July 13 contest was called after Tory Charlie Wooding lost his place on RMBC over poor attendance.

And those hoping to replace him are Julz Hall (Conservatives); Tony Harrison (Reform UK); Peter Robert Key (Yorkshire Party), Paul Neville Martin (Green Party); Matt Mears (Liberal Democrats); Dave Smith (independent) and John Vjestica (Labour).

Dinnington ward residents have until midnight on June 27 to register to vote if not already on the electoral register.

Voters casting their ballots at polling stations will need to show photo ID.

Rotherham Council will hold a drop-in session to help those needing assistance with Voter Authority Certificate applications.

This will be from 11.30am to 1.30pm on June 28 at Dinnington Tesco.
