Salute the military at Rotherham's Armed Forces Day celebrations
The aim of the day is to raise awareness of the contribution of the country's soldiers, sailors and airmen, past and present, and to show support for their work.
The council’s Cabinet member for adult social care, Cllr John Doyle, said: “Members of our Armed Forces are currently busy working around the world promoting peace, providing security and preventing terrorism.

Hide Ad“They do a fantastic, selfless job, travelling the globe, leaving loved ones behind and risking everything to ensure that people of all nations can continue to enjoy freedom and democracy.
“Considering the success of past events, I’m sure that everybody in Rotherham will be flooding to the town centre to show their support and appreciation taking place on Armed Forces Day.”
Activities will begin in the town centre from 10am with stalls and family entertainment taking place until 4pm.
There will be a parade leaving the Town Hall at approx 11.20am followed by the raising of the Armed Forces Flag at noon in All Saints’ Square.
