Rotherham's Shop Local scheme praised

The Understanding High Street Performance document published by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills alongside Mary Portas’s review of High Streets lists the Shop Local scheme as an example of how to woo shoppers.

The Government report said: “Some initiatives, like the Rotherham Shop Local scheme, show that schemes can be successful despite the limitations of the technology on offer.

“Users have to check a list of offers from participating outlets before they can take advantage, but more than 10,000 people have registered for a loyalty card.”

Members of Shop Local, which was launched in July, have access to a range of discounts at town centre shops advertised on a regular basis at rotherhamtowncentre.co.uk
