Rotherham estate sgent Anthony Thickett, of Merryweathers, said: “This is undoubtedly the most expensive house put up for sale in the Rotherham borough.

“I’ve worked in the town for 25 years and never come across anything of that value.

“Times are hard, though, and whether they achieve their asking price is another matter altogether.”
