Rotherham worker wins pay-out over freezer shock

A ROTHERHAM woman was left with serious neck and shoulder pain after suffering an electric shock at a Meadowhall juice bar.

Julie Humphries (34) put her hand on top of a faulty freezer while working behind the counter at the Boost Juice Bar in Meadowhall in February 2009.

Now she has been awarded undisclosed compensation for her injuries which, she says, continue to cause her pain and require her to take time off work.

Thompsons solicitors, which represented Mrs Humphries, found that the branch manager, who has since been dismissed, was aware of the fault on the freezer, but failed to switch it off or warn staff.

Boost Juice Bars Ltd admitted liability and the case was settled out of court.
