Rotherham women fundraise for the Philippines
FUNDRAISERS will be collecting in the town centre this weekend for victims of the Philippines typhoon.
Brinsworth and Catcliffe Ward Cllr Shabana Ahmed and other women from Rotherham will be collecting on Saturday for the DEC Appeal.
In the past two weeks, the Oxfam Rotherham Group have led two collections at Asda on Aldwarke Lane, raising over £1,300 for the emergency work that the Disasters and Emergency Committee humanitarian agencies are delivering in the Philippines. But they want to do more.
They are appealing to people in Rotherham to help them raise £3,000 for the DEC Philippines Appeal.
