Rotherham firm combines art and technology for show

Pieces on show at the Industrial Revolution 2.0 exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum included modern designs by Materialise.

Among the items was a light shade which can be opened and closed like a blooming lotus flower, creating a dimmer effect.

The Belgian firm has its UK base is at the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Catcliffe.

Managing director Philip Hudson said: “The commissioned pieces aim to demonstrate the capabilities of our technology.”
