Rotherham entrepreneurs offered free training and support

ENTREPRENEURS in Rotherham are being urged to take up free training and support.

The Business Lift-off project, run by Rotherham Council’s Investment and Development Office (RiDO), sets out a range of workshops and masterclasses on a number of business topicsdesigned to help plan, develop and grow business ideas.

Martin Benson, business start-up advisor at RiDO said: “Having a great business idea is just the start of the process.

“Having the research and planning in place and understanding the financial implications all help to turn a great business idea into a successful venture.

“We want to make sure people are well prepared and have the necessary skills and knowledge to deal with those initial hurdles that can often result in a new venture failing before it even gets off the ground.”

Workshops run by RiDO’s business advisors are held every four weeks in Rotherham town centre with a follow-up specialist masterclass offered in book-keeping, accounting and tax, business planning and marketing.

RiDO can also offer general advice and support around issues such as exporting, finding new premises, funding and recruitment.
