Rotherham contestant aims to inspire bullying victims as he competes for Mr Gay GB Title

A WOULD-be Mr Gay GB says he wants to win the title to show other bullying victims “there’s light at the end of the tunnel”.

George Hudson (24) will represent Rotherham in the final of the national competition in August.

He said his family’s backing was spurring him on, adding: “When I came out to my family, they were all supportive and accepting, but I was bullied at school for being gay.

“I want other people to become more confident and know that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.”

After interviews, fund-raising and a workshop day, nail technology student George made it to the final stage of the contest, which will be held at The Alnwick Garden.

George said he aimed to donate any prize money to The Charlie and Carter Foundation, a charity which provides financial support to parents of seriously ill children.

The winner will be decided by judges and a public vote.
