Rolls Royce targets women and youngsters in recruitment drive

WOMEN and young people are being encouraged to apply for entry level jobs with Rolls Royce’s growing team at the Advanced Manufacturing Park.

The firm’s new site — which becomes operational in July 2013 — will create about 100 positions for residents of South Yorkshire.

But the traditional vacancy adverts have seen young people and women under-represented and the firm is keen to address workforce diversity.

Engineering experience is not essential but candidates must have an interest in the sector and maths and English qualifications to GCSE grade A-C level standard.

Thirty suitable candidates will be put forward to the Rolls Royce assessment process in January 2013. A spokesman said: “These are fantastic long term opportunities.”
