Roads reopen following suspicious item discovery

ROADS in Tinsley have reopened after the unidentified item found turned out to be a training shell.

Police attended and called bomb disposal experts after workmen made the discovery this morning.

Roads were closed and residents evacuated as a precaution while the investigation took place.

A police spokesman said: “The Explosive Ordnance Disposal attended and the item was found to be a training shell, which had been underground for some time.”

“We would like to thank motorists and residents for their patience during the investigation.”
