Redirack pioneering new warehouse control system

ROTHERHAM firm Redirack has won Government backing for its bid to develop a unique warehouse management system.

The company, which is based in Wharf Road,Mexbrough, has been given funding by the government’s Regional Growth Fund for the development of a new system to control the throughput and storage of high value and perishable goods.

The firm says the new system, RediLogX, will also save on operating costs and improve carbon footprint.

Redirack has more than 35 years’ experience in warehouse racking and product movement systems and is one of the largest manufacturers of racking products in Europe.

The company will be working with the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, Sheffield Hallam University, and The Weld Institute to develop its unique, automated stock management warehouse system.

Business Secretary, Vince Cable, said: "The Regional Growth Fund is creating the long-term growth and jobs that this country needs. The projects support important local priorities and there is a good alignment with key sectors in our Industrial Strategy including automotive, aerospace and life sciences."
