READER PIC: Jackie Ryan's newborn puppy

THIS picture of the latest addition to her family has been sent in by Advertiser reader Jackie Ryan.

The cute youngster is a lhasa apso puppy which arrived over the New Year.

Jackie said: “Katie (the pup’s mother) was expecting a litter (and so were we) but she only had the one.

“But what a big one. Ten ounces at birth and I’m given to understand they average between 5 and 6 ounces

“A friend of mine, Lynne, had to advise us over the phone about helping with the birth as the baby was stuck so my husband John  needed to help her into the world.

“Lynne had no sleep that night as she spent most of it on the phone with us.”
