A woman walking behind Mr Cropper tried to warn him of the Rottweiler as it charged, but the vicious animal had already reached him.

Maltese puppy Beau suffered head wounds and a broken spine and had to be put down.

Mr Cropper’s shoulder had to be pinned back together and he will need at least 12 weeks physiotherapy.
