Quiet Bonfire Night for fire crews

BONFIRE Night passed without any major incidents but fire crews were kept busy with several smaller blazes.

They attended one bonfire which had been left unattended at Spalton Road, Rawmarsh. It was recorded as accidental.

Three wheelie bins were set on fire deliberately at Wesley Avenue in Swallownest.

Firefighters prevented a garage fire at Library Close in Wingfield spreading to others in a block of five. The garage had been used to store furniture and was set alight deliberately.

Other accidental fires included a skip on Greasbrough Road and some chipboard in a yard on Primrose Hill, both at Thornhill.
