£25m fund 'will help bring new jobs'

ROTHERHAM’S Advanced Manufacturing Park has welcomed a new £25 million fund to help businesses across the Sheffield City Region.

The Government cash is predicted to unlock more than £100 million of direct investment and lead to private sector growth and hundreds of jobs.

AMP marketing manager Simon Spode said: “Much of the work that takes place at the AMP is about helping companies improve their competitiveness through the use of new manufacturing technology and techniques.

“The successful Regional Growth Fund bid further enhances the package of options available to our advanced manufacturing growth companies.”

The region’s Loval Enterprise Partnership currently comprises 27 firms and more will be invited to join and benefit from the project.

Businessman David Grey, an LEP board member, said: “This programme will demonstrate how a small amount of funding can unlock significantly more direct private sector investment.”
