Protesters target UKIP leader Nigel Farage

PROTESTERS have disrupted the Rotherham visit of UKIP leader Nigel Farage this morning.

Between 60 and 80 people campaigning against UKIP and its policies have made their presence felt outside its town headquarters on Wellgate.

Mr Farage had been due to speak publicly and also complete interviews with members of the media, but his appearances are understood to have been scuppered by the action.

One eye witness at the scene said: “The protesters are here in numbers and they are making their presence felt. They’re being very vocal.”
