A CHILDREN'S charity is a winner thanks to news that a professional golfer will donate a cut of his prize money to them.

Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice will receive two per cent of the prize money every time 20-year-old pro Aaron Hodkin wins a competition.

Aaron, who lives in Thorne, said: "I want to support a local charity and I already know people from Bluebell Wood.

"I also went to Trinity Academy, where Bluebell Wood is one of their chosen charities."

Bluebell Wood's Chief Executive Sarah Champion added: "I think it is brilliant that Aaron is doing this.

"Everyone at Bluebell Wood is behind Aaron 100 per cent and we wish him all the best for his professional career."
